This might be a stupid question, but how do the king crabs get into the pots itself?They have never really showed that on the show.

There is a rectangular opening on the side of the pot where they climb in. The size depends on the type crab fished for. Large for red crab to smallest for bairdi. Cod also has a restricted opening. Watch for orange "teeth" during Opelio season.

Howdee! I believe there is a door they enter into the pot through that is spring loaded and they can't get back out. They find the bait and munch down. :)
