About the Boat: 110 ft long house forward fishing vessel built by Marco in 1975 and bought new by Erling Skaar, father of Sten and John. The owners of the boat own the Gen Tech company and used the boat as a research vessel for some years.
The Skaars have been out of the fishing game for a while, using their boat as a research vessel tracking global warming in the Arctic Circle. The Skaar family is of Norwegian descent.

The boat can carry 100 pots at any given time and has a quota of 90,000 pounds.

He learned the business from his father Erling, who learned to fish from Sverre Hansen, father of the F/V Northwestern's Hansen Brothers. Sten most enjoys the camraraderie with his crew and working closely with his brother John.

Mini bio: As Deckboss and Engineer John in the man behind the day-to-day upkeep up keep of the vessel and its experimental technology. Even in his spare time he works on the green boat system, hoping it can be used on a larger scale someday. John also comes from a proud fishing tradition of Norwegian descent and is the brother of Captain Sten.

Mini bio: Travis is a 24 year old computer programmer and a GenTech engineer. Travis has previously fished pollack with Sten. Both Travis and Sten have similar personalities and are very motivated people.
Travis has a taste for adventure and has also taken part in dangerous events such as the Running of the Bulls in Pamploma, Spain. Outside of fishing Travis owns and operates a production company and builds custom retro Honda scooters.

Mini bio: 39 year old Davin is a third-generation fisherman from Seattle who has been fishing since he was 12. His first crab fishing outing was in 1984 with his father and he has been hooked since. Davin has known the Skaar's all of his life and looks forward to being part of the North American crew. He has tried jobs on land but always finds himself drawn back to the sea.

Name: Eric Nyhammer
Position: Deckhand

Mini bio: Eric has strong Norwegian fishing roots. After Skippering the F/V Rollo for King Crab Season, Eric joined the crew of the North American to work the deck, working both boats for boats for King crab.
Eric is an artist working in oils and pastels and comes off as mellow and laid back; however he shouldn't be underestimated. He really likes to lead and doesn't have a problem speaking his mind.
