SYNOPSIS: Unseasonably warm weather and calm seas have contributed to three days of record catches for the fleet. It's not all smooth sailing for one boat, however, when an electrical fire breaks out in the engine room and its crew must scramble to fix the problem before safely returning to fishing.

But as the fourth day of the season gets under way, the continued high number of crabs spurs rumors of an early closure, with every captain speculating on when the quota will be met.

  • The story of the fire on, sinking of and Coast Guard rescue of the crew of the F/V Galaxy.

  • When the Retriever and the Northwestern are fishing close together and they are speculating about how each other are doing but are way off base as they are both on completely different fishing but assume they are on the same.

  • The Lady Alaska has been fishing for 40 hours, the crew is exhausted and still not on the crab. They go to check the string where they switched from salmon to cod bait.

  • After helping search for the F/V Big Valley, the Maverick drops pots near St. Paul Island and the pots are coming up full.

  • 48 hours in the crew of the Northwestern is allowed a sit down meal.

  • The Retriever loses power and are adrift. There is a dangerous electrical flare up on the main electrical board. A circuit must be replaced before they can regain power and get back to fishing.

  • The Northwestern fills up so quickly that they have to empty the back tank of bait so they can fit on more crab.They are doubling the fleet average which is 22 crab per pot.

  • The Maverick fills the boat, offloads at St. Paul and then goes back out to the ground to catch some more.
