Season: 2

Crab Count:

SYNOPSIS: After heavy offloads on St. Paul Island, the Rollo and Maverick head back out to the crab grounds for their last big push. As they steam out, Capt. Eric on the Rollo is steaming mad at his crew; because of poor counting on deck, they had almost 40,000 more pounds of crab than they were scheduled to.

The Cornelia Marie also offloads in St. Paul, but unfortunately for Capt. Phil and his crew, they aren't offloading crab, they're dropping off injured deckhand Dave Millman. Now the Cornelia Marie crew must finish out their season one man down, a situation that could pay off big for greenhorn Jake, who has been jockeying for a full share position since the season began.

Capt. Andy Hillstrand and the Time Bandit crew are still battling the ice pack on the northern edge of the crab grounds; if they don't haul their gear and catch their crab fast enough, their Special Forces tactics (first in first out) might not pay off in the end. If they lose their gear, the season will be an absolute bust. Fishing cod before crab is already paying off for Capt. Sig and the boys on the Northwestern; they entered the season late, but they're on the crab and pulling up huge numbers.

  • Suggestion box? This should be a complaint box. -Deckboss Edgar Hansen on Sig's suggestion box -Northwestern
  • Captain Sig of the Northwestern is really pushing his crew so he puts out a suggestion box.

  • Captain Eric Nyhammer of the Rollo goes down on deck to teach his crew how to count, but the crew isn't entirely convinced he knows how to do it either.

  • Deckhand Matt Bradly is sorting crab but finds time to say that he hadn't changed his underwear since they left Seattle.

  • Tensions are heightened on the Northwestern when Captain Sig wakes up on the wrong side of the bunk after allowing the crew to have their way and sleep instead of pulling the last string.

Boat Profile Page - Deadliest Catch WikiMAN VS. NATURE ON THE DEADLIEST CATCH
  • On the Cornelia Marie Deckhand Dave Millman is unable to work due to his ankle injury so they must fish a man down for the rest of the season.

  • The Rollo is to deliver their quota of northern shares of crab but when the tank is opened at St. Paul there are about 20,000 extra pounds of crab in the tank. Since they are over quota they'll receive a fine and will get 10 cents less a pound for their crab.

  • The Rollo is boarded by the Dept. of Commerce and told that with the new regulations they must unload the 23,000 lbs. that they have in the back tank before they go back out fishing. This is the first Captain Eric has heard of this. They must unload the crab and will get a lower price for that crab as well.

  • The Northwestern starts pulling pots of over 400 crab on two of Sig's favourite strings.

  • With the crew one man short, Deckhand Jake Harris of the Cornelia Marie gets more experience on deck and one step closer to proving that he is worth a full share position.
