SYNOPSIS: Only days into the opilio season, a major storm system has arrived on the fishing grounds. High seas cause Captain Andy of the Time Bandit to call his men off the deck, moments before a rogue wave hits the starboard side. Meanwhile, the wheelhouse of the Cornelia Marie becomes unsafe when Captain Phil must scold a deckhand. Off to a slow start, the Northwestern is plagued once again by bad luck: an engine problem forces the boat to head for port.

  • The weather is deteriorating. It's like being in a washing machine on full cycle. - Deckhand Russ Newberry - Time Bandit

  • Captain Phil Harris of the Cornelia Marie and his son Greenhorn Josh Harris have a bit of a run in throughout the episode about what Josh should be doing on deck.

  • The Time Bandit fishes in and then jogsthrough some major weather.

Boat Profile Page - Deadliest Catch WikiMAN VS. NATURE ON THE DEADLIEST CATCH
  • The Northwestern's engine craps out on them just as they hit some good fishing so they have to go back to Dutch for repairs.

  • On the Wizard a massive wave takes the forward crane out of commission so the last 5 pots must be pushed by hand to the launcher, the deck made fast and, then it's back to town for repairs.

  • The Time Bandit sets out an 80 mile, 80 pots string to try to find the elusive Baradi. They are pulling pots of 500 but with only about 15 keepers.

  • The crab processing boat Stellar Sea is now fixed so there is now a place to deliver their catch.

  • When Deckhand Richard Gregorie of the Time Bandit takes a turn at the rail throwing buoys he dodges a near disaster. He goes to throw the buoy but the line wraps around his leg so he slaps it and it wraps around his other but he gets himself clear with no time to spare. Had he not freed his leg the line woul dhave taken him right over the side of the boat.

  • When the Farwest Leader goes into St. George Harbor to pick up 30 pots they have miserable 30 minute ride through the dog leg channel back out to sea. The channel is so narrow that if the boat drifts at all they'll be on the rocks and there is a massive swell building.
