my father lived about 100 miles north of Juneau Alaska and loved it. I never got a chance to go there but I will one day. He thought he was in heaven itself. He lived there for a couple of years until his health would not let him. It is beautiful up there!

In the beginning of the shows, the graves seemed to be marked with crosses that are doubled, what is the meaning, if there is one?

"The cemetery they show is at the Church of the Holy Ascension, which is Russian Orthodox.
The cross is the Orthodox cross - The Orthodox cross, made up of two horizontal and one diagonal bar crossing a vertical pole, is the symbol of the Russian Orthodox Church. The upper bar represents the sign "INRI," ("Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews") the mocking title bestowed on Christ by the Romans in the New testament account of the crucifixion.
The lower, slanted bar is simply a stylized footrest, a common design in early Christian crosses. Later folklore holds that the lower end points to hell, and the upper to heaven, representing the destinies of the two thieves crucified with Christ. The first thief, repentant, went to heaven, the second, who did not regret his sin, to hell." Thank you CaroleMay for this explanation. I'm sure many of us were asking the same questions, having seen that cemetary many times over.

In the opening shots we see the cemetery as the crabbers leave Dutch Harbor, is there a memorial for the lost and if so how many crabbers have been lost?
